What's bugging you? (2006)

And Homer, my wife's probably going to end up getting a handicapped tag for her car because she has degenerative arthritis in her ankles and knees. She's blond, although she doesn't drive a Miata. Would you make the same comment to her that you did to the "bimbo", or does she get a free pass because she drives a Kia?

No, your wife gets a free pass because she actually has a handicap. I should have given more detail: the girl jogged across the parking lot to get out of the rain. And when I say blond bimbo - it has more to do with her attitude and copious amounts of makeup and lack of clothing than the fact that she is blond.

Hey Brian and Nicole....I hope for the best for Nicole, that just stinks.

As for the handicapped parking thing, I had a different sort of issue with it that definitely bugged me.

One of my wife's sons (now deceased) had a horrible skin disease and was most definitely handicapped over the last few years of his life. The town I live in put a handicapped parking sign by the curb in front of our house so that we could get Andy in and out easily.....the neighbor across the street parked her car in that spot at least twice a week. There was space for us to park in front of her or behind her, etc, which was usually her explanation for it. Yeah, ok, the sidewalk leading to our house was right under the sign she was ignoring by parking there....thanks for the help.

I could not believe the insensitivity....the kid was in a wheelchair, there wasn't a lot of explaining necessary on this one.

Of course, that "explanation" is completely invalid because the spaces in front and behind would have been available to the entire world.

I'm sorry to hear about your stepson.

What an insensitive person.

This reminds me of people who have treated my mother like crap because she is deaf. Part of me wants to wish an invisible disability on them, even for a day. This neighbor of yours, Todd...I can't even finish that sentence. But if there is such a thing as karma, she'll get some.

Great pic, TheEndless7!

But I'm glad I have "Nuke Anything Enhanced" available so I can read the rest of the page once I'm through admiring your work. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Your blanket assumption that a person who fits that description is too lazy is a slap in the face to those with not outwardly-visible disabilities.

Sorry. I forgot "and blow right past the motorized cart for the disabled (since they are not disabled) in a mad rush to buy what they need and get out of there as fast as possible" on the end of my statement. I really was not trying to make a blanket statement with my post. I just hate the people who have no disabilities who try to do things that those who are actually disabled should be allowed to do without receiving dirty looks.

I worked at a grocery store in high school, so I know all about the problems of people parking in handicapped spaces when they are not really handicapped. I have helped out people who need to use the motorized carts because they actually do have a problem walking. I've seen people park in the fire lane in front of the store and hurry inside to get some groceries and rush out again simply because they are in a hurry, not because they are handicapped.

People that run around in stores and restraunts in pajamas. When did this become acceptable?

Ambercrombie & Fitch. Went to the mall today, and the music that comes out of that store is insanely loud. I feel like there should be a bar in the back with some strobe lights flashing and people dancing when I peek into that store. Then they have their advertisements. Their ads for guys jeans show a torso of a guy, no shirt, and like an inch of the top of the jeans showing. Yes, I want to buy something I can't really see a picture of. Then the clothes themselves cost a ton. What, $35 for a t-shirt, $80 or $100 for a pair of pants. Yikes.

No need to explain. I get my hair cut at the West Towne Penney's myself. I don't mind since it's at the end of the mall, so I can get in and out without having to see too much stuff.

Back to the topic...on the way in to the Penney's salon this evening, I had to pass a Christmas tree display. On September 28. That bugged me.

I have a big rant with that too...Given the fact that a Pair of Abercrombie jeans can cost upwards of 160$ on occasion and time of year.

Now, I wear designer jeans ((Diesel, Armani, and Ben Sherman commonly)) and they cost me 115-130 a pair. So, who is Abercrombie and Fitch to price things higher than Armani? I guess it's more the consumer that doesn't realize they can buy much better than abercrombie for the same price or less.

getting stuck walking on campus behind someone smoking a cigarette.

the fact that its really difficult to cross Johnson St. or University Ave in Madison when you're walking north on either Lake St or Park St... they should definitely program those crosswalks to give people a LOT of time to walk across... the people on Johnson or University can wait, I need to get to class - yeah that's selfish, but I'm walking, they're driving therefore I feel like I should be given every advantage to get there without having to stop to wait for cross traffic.

I should take my jeans that I wear fishing and sell them for a ton. They have that cool vintage look from walking through deep brush and being beaten by the sun, sometimes they even get blood stains when a fish gets hooked too deeply.

TJ Maxx and the like are where it's at. Most of my jeans have $60-70 price tages on them, but I pay $25-35 at TJ Maxx. I own two pairs of Abercrombie jeans, and I paid $15 at TJ Maxx.
