Put them all on the market

I am not sure how to interpret this report. Does this mean that the Brewers are trying to trade everyone? Or does this mean the Brewers are open to trading any one of those players (but not necessarily all of them).

If the Brewers do decide to have a fire sale, I could live with it. I like the idea of getting cheaper, younger, and clearing lots of payroll for other moves.

I will miss Rickie Weeks though. He was starting to have a breakout season and it seemed like we were finally going to get some return on drafting him as our number one pick. I still hope they can work out an extension, but if the right deal comes along and it helps the team, I guess I can live with it.

I just hope Doug Melvin is capable of evaluating young pitchers who we might get in return. This will be a HUGE test for his credibility as a GM.

If Weeks goes does that mean Lawrie jumps straight to the Brewers? That would be interesting to say the least.
Offensively, I don't think there would be much of a hiccup.....defensively.....that leaves something to be desired, I think.

I don't think Lawrie is even close to being ready offensively or defensively. Plus I wouldn't want to burn any of his service time.

No way Weeks gets us Bumgarner. Does SF even need a second baseman?
Eh, probably not. I was wishing...maybe Weeks+. In the article it was suggested that if SF traded for Weeks, they'd move Sanchez to 3rd, and Panda to 1st.

It would be interesting to see what they would do at 2b for the rest of the year and next season. As much as I am excited for Lawrie to get to the majors, I would hate for the Brewers to rush their 2b prospect up again.

jjkoestler[/b]]If Weeks is traded I hope they trade Counsell as well. I'd like to see Cruz and Farris in Milwaukee this year.

i have always liked farris and think he could be a good lefty lead off guy, but isnt he still in AA?

just for the record... i hope they can get some good deals on hart and fielder and then sign weeks long term

Burning service time while a player learns how to play MLB level 2B would not be wise to repeat with Lawrie. Weeks really should have another 2 years of arby time if the Brewers had brought him up when he was ready

Maybe he just slipped your minds, but why not Joe Inglett? He's a 2b.
That is exactly what I was thinking. He would probably get a good amount of PT at 2B if they traded Weeks. But I really hope they keep Weeks, I would like to see him extended still. I have said that since the beginning of the season and I sticking to that.

I still think Lawrie ends up somewhere other than second base. I think if Weeks is traded, they acquire a two stop gap and wait for Scooter Gennett. Gennett is domination A ball and should pull a Lawrie and move up to Huntsville next year. I'd hate to see Lawrie play one or two years of second base in Milwaukee just to switch again. Obviously Gennett and Lawrie both can't play second, and Gennett is better defensively. I would actually like to see Weeks resigned, though.

RyDogg, I'd love to take the Fielder offer and divide it between Hart and Weeks. The big concern I have is that I like Gamel, Cain, and LAwrie, and that's far too many righties.
