2010-06-03 Brewers (Capuano) at Marlins (Johnson), 6:10 PM CDT [Cappy's Return, Brewers lose, 3-2]

If the Brewers end up losing to Josh Johnson, I'm sure that tidbit will make it into Haudricourt's lede for his story. He was the main one that shoved the streak down everyone's throats and made it a bigger deal than it really was, making it seem like every loss was Capuano's fault.

It's weird to be able to hear so much sound from the field... like for example right there when Fielder got hit by the pitch and was swearing.

I just messaged obsessedwithbrewcrew and encouraged him to shout something Brewerfan-esque, since we'd probably hear him. I don't know if he has a mobile device at the game, though.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

There is some of that, ahem, "good defense" Capuano was talking about that we have up here.

You can blame Rickie for Capuano not getting out of that inning, but he wasn't exactly sharp tonight, either. Good job by Loe getting out of the bases loaded jam, though. That sinker is nasty (as long as the Marlins keep flailing at it).

The Marlins' AT&T trivia question was "Who are the only two Brewers to start an All-Star game". The answer was Robin Yount and Ryan Braun. I guess they've forgotten about Sheets as well.

These Marlins announcers are brutal. One just convinced the other that both leagues of the NPB use the DH.

And Fielder, and Burnitz as an injury replacement.

Am I the only one here that is really starting to worry about Lawrie? I know he's only 20, but he has really struggled in Huntsville.
A .262/.332/.437/.769 line from the second youngest player in AA is fine.

Rickie's got 8 HR. Have they all been opposite field jobs?

He missed a lot of time last year, I think I'd give him more than 2 months before I wrote him off.

No, but he's actually done a decent job at going the other way this year. He's pulled homeruns down the line, but those have been on pitches right down the middle. Nearly every player in the big leagues at least hits those hard.

But he's like a leaky old ship, fix one hole and another's already started.
