This team is so awful, I let my wife turn it to the reality dancing show that just started up. Macha just appears to not care how bad this team gets. At least Yost had these guys playing mediocre defense by the time he was ousted. Macha's team just might be playing the worst defense I have ever seen. The baserunning is just icing on the cake. I am officially cynical Brewerfan for the rest of this year. I may have to stay away from here before I get kicked off.

Gallardo not nearly as sharp as he was on Friday.

Granted he's not precise, but McGehee cost him 6 pitches in the first, and now Weeks will cost him some pitches. Its just gross.

McGehee made a bad throw but the other 29 1B in the league can catch the very short hop that Fielder not only cant catch but cant even stop.

Joyce quote from the Associated Press: "I just cost that kid a perfect game. I was convinced he beat throw, until I saw the replay. It was biggest call of my career."

At least he was man enough to admit his mistake, unlike some umpires last October. I still remember Tim McClelland saying he "believed in (his) heart" that a Yankee (I think it was Swisher) left third too soon on a sac fly, even after seeing the video evidence.

I've been thinking about something quite a bit today, why is Kottaras a better option than Lucroy? Please understand that this has nothing to do with Kottaras striking out just now other than it reminded to post this.

I didn't realize how poorly he's been hitting as he always seems to do well when I'm watching. However today I was just bouncing around looking at stats because I was bored and saw that he's hitting .217 for the season and .195 over the last 28 days. How exactly does that make him the better option if Macha is basing the decision on production? And no I'm not taking Lucroy's 4 for 10 into consideration, pitchers don't have a book on him yet. I'm talking philosophically... why is Kottaras playing every day over one of our top prospects when he's not performing very well. McGehee I could understand though I thought he should have been playing 2nd with Gamel at 3rd since our defense was going to take a hit anyway, but I don't understand this catching situation at all.

crud..I should have come here first because I knew ya'll would be talking Tigers. Such a bad call I made a Major thread...oops
No worries...we should probably keep discussion in this thread focused on the Brewer game. Further Joyce discussion should take place in the "Umpires Ego" thread.
