I actually like the lineup a lot if this team were seriously contending right now. I don't believe the Brewers are, so of course I'd rather see Gomez get as many PAs as possible. Gomez hasn't had a day off in the past seven, so maybe it's just a good time to get him a bit of rest.

In terms of being an optimized lineup, I think it's pretty good. I like Kottaras at #2, and the only change I would probably make overall would be to flip-flop Hart & Edmonds (assuming a healthy, full-speed Edmonds).

I think with Bush on the mound, I would've preferred someone in center that can protect the gaps a little better than Edmonds. Hopefully Bush can keep it in the infield, though. Let's avoid the ugly 6th inning today, guys.

I'm not that type of guy that normally slows down to look at an accident, but for some reason I'm morbidly curious about this year's Brewer team even though I have no confidence in the pitching and I keep watching these games even though I know I'll just end up thinking about how pissed I am at Melvin.

Dave Bush is the same. I'm sick of hearing about the stupid line drive.
Just because you are sick of hearing about it doesn't mean that there hasn't been a noticeable difference in his pitching ability before and after that moment.

And CC Sabathia sucked mightily his first start for the Brewers.

Even if it wasn't the line drive, there's no ignoring the fact that Bush's velocity on his fastball is down 2.2 MPH since last year.

As I've said before, he's toast.
