Hitter vs pitcher matchups are trivia not predictive. Platoon advantage matters more. Flip Hart and Escobar and I like the lineup. Other than Stern in there of course.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

So Fielder is 3-37 in his career vs Maholm with 0 XBH and he gets moved up to 3rd?! And Counsell is 4-8 off him where as Weeks is 7-32, yet Weeks is in there again? If this makes sense to someone, please explain...

I need to switch the lineup because I'm about to get fired! And Counsell is left handed and Weeks is right handed so there's no possible way that Counsell might be a better option against a LHP. Especially with Weeks struggling badly and not having a day off this year, which is still completely insane. Though I've come to expect insane decisions from Macha.

Hey, Ken, Halladay threw 132 pitches in his last start. Let's top that by sending Narveson out for 140!

I would not call an .081 lifetime BA for Fielder vs Maholm trivial. I'd call it terrible and a great time for a day off if they had a backup 1st baseman

37 at bats is trivia not predictive.
I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but let me know how Prince does vs Maholm tonight. I predict an o-fer
I predict 1-4 with a single and 2K. Final score 7-3 in favor of the Mighty Pirates.

In the 2 hole, Escobar has provided a .444 OBP so far. Probably just lucky though.

I love Alcides in the 2 hole even if he doesn't seem to be a prototypical choice. I like the dynamic he provides there

If history serves, this is the one the Brewers pull out. No Hoffman, a pitching match-up that seems to clearly favor the Pirates, a near empty bench, and fan optimism is at an all-time low. I'd bet the club is something like .600 in games like these in the past three years (what, like 6 for 10 under all those conditions?). I like those odds!

0-4 with 4K's nor 5-5 with 5 HR would prove either one of us is correct. An 0-fer night is more likely not because Fielder is 3-37 but because it is a LHP vs LH bat matchup.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.
