So many good young catchers

Crash2303

Aside from Salome and LuCroy there are so many good young catchers in baseball right now- more than i can ever remember. Especially in the upper echelon- guys who seem to be the full package. Elite major leaguers 27yrs old and under:

Joe Mauer
Brian McCann
Russell Martin
Geovanny Soto
Kurt Suzuki
Matt Wieters- ready to break out soon

Plus you have guys like Chris Snyder, Mike Napoli, and Victor Martinez who are a little older but who may have not have even hit their full potential yet. Three guys (Carlos Santana, Buster Posey, & Jesus Montero) are uber talented and all, all-star capable ready to test the waters within a year.

Other top prospects on the cusp of the majors- some who have tasted it already, some not include:
Wilson Ramos- MIN
Hank Conger- LAA
Jason Castro- HOU
Tyler Flowers- CWS
Tony Sanchez- PIT
Angel Salome- MIL
Jonathan LuCroy- MIL
Max Ramirez- TEX
Lou Marson- CLE

not to mention highly regarded prospects who have yet to fulfill their billing in the majors:
Adam Moore
Nick Hundley
J.R. Towles
Jeff Mathis

In 2-3 years there is going to be so much good young catching- there will be no excuse if you are lacking backstop help. I could easily see 9-10 catchers all putting up all-star numbers then.
