Brian Shouse.....new role?

What has transpired during the course of the year that has changed Shouse's role?

I thought he was our LOGGY. Instead he is pitching in the 6th inning, throwing the whole inning. This especially doesn't make any sense now that we have added a second left handed pitcher to the bullpen.

For example, last night, why didn't Villy pitch the 6th and save Shouse for a tough leftly later in the game. Yost really messed up by pitching Wise three innings yesterday so he wasn't available last night to pitch the 7th.

Nobody in our bullpen has a specific role now except Cordero and Turnbow.

I don't think anyone has a role of "6th inning guy", because there really shouldn't be a need for a reliever in the 6th inning. He was just the worst guy they had, so they put him in the 6th. It's not like he's been bad this year, though, so I'm not too upset if he pitches an entire inning.

Wise can't go two days in a row anyway, so it doesn't matter whether they pitch him one inning or three. So might as well pitch him for three.

And as for Shouse, check out how he has done in his last 11-12 outings and see if this "change of role" has been bad or good.
