Fire Macha

Ned Yost was good for this team when they were young. As they are getting older I just don't see the laid back coaching style that him and Macha both have, to be effective. I think they need a coach with a little more flair, a little more fire. When Weeks makes his second error in the same game, you pull him on the spot. When Gerut gets thrown out trying to steal 3rd base with our hottest hitter at the plate, you bench him. When you bring in LaTroy Hawkins in the 8th inning and he walks his first 2 batters, he's done. I don't see this team playing better when their own manager accepts mediocrity.

 

So when Macha gets canned who should step in Randolph, Svuem or someone else? And I would add, if it is Svuem, that most likely means Robin Yount would be back as a coach.

As much as I want Macha gone I dont think it makes much difference at this point because the season is over because of the awful starting pitching. As for replacements I want no part of randolph who was awful for the Mets (living in NY I saw his ineptitude close up) and small ball sveum is equally clueless. Bobby Valentine and Davey Johnson are two guys that would add a lot to this team but Melvin is too clueless to do the right thing.

You really don't think that's the coaches call to send him there? Come on. Macha is not the type of manager to let guys run on their own. If he was, Escobar might actually have more than 0 SBs.

This thread is likely over before it started, but I'll try to get this in before its locked. ABSOLUTELY FIRE KEN MACHA! I doubt he will really care one way or the other.
