Hamels is going vs. Davis tonight. It's an ESPN game. The stars are aligned against the Brewers, which means we'll end up scoring 9 runs and avoiding the sweep. Give us something to cheer about, sharpie!

I wish I felt confident that scoring 9 runs would avoid the sweep. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif

I will attempt to channel the Sharpie-of-old with my 2006 Davis jersey tonight. Pray for mojo!

As if things weren't going swimmingly already, Haudricourt just tweeted: "Brewers scratch LHP Doug Davis from start tonight

vs. Philly for unspecified medical reason. More later."

Parra time? Will they ask Bush to pitch on 3-days rest and call up someone to start tomorrow? With the state of our bullpen currently this could get ugly fast.

I forgot about the off day Thursday. Well, that's helpful at least that Bush will be pitching on his normal 4 days rest. Lets go Dave!

So...maybe I shouldn't even have posted about my jersey. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif And not to call out thablingster, but "could" get ugly? We haven't been at ugly for a while already?

Anyway, unless/until one of the more Yuku-savvy staffers can change the photos in the lead post, here are backup photos of tonight's starters-as-of-1:17 PM, CDT:

I read somewhere once that it's bad luck to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Here's hoping I don't have to keep editing the graphics all the way up until we leave for Milwaukee.

I'm just trying to be optimistic, hawing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I can't let myself get demoralized, I've still got 10 plus games of this team to watch in person this year! lol.

My guess would be Parra to the rotation, Riske to the 60-day DL (clearing the 40 man spot), Braddock to the bullpen.

Count me in as not confident that Bush's 85 mph fastball and 68 mph curveball are going to not be sent into orbit by Victorino, Utley, Howard, Werth and Ibanez.
Maybe the roof will be closed, thus precluding the balls from going into orbit. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

But seriously (and since I have even more games to attend yet this year than thablingster), the last time I attended a Bush/Hamels matchup, it turned out better than expected.

As much as I would love to see Capuano, it would be best to give him another few starts at AAA.

I actually feel better about the Brewers after catching a bit of the Cubs game. Soriano booted 2 balls in a row in left field, Pirates up 3-0 and hopefully on the way to another sweep.

Tab, the IGT was initially set up as Kendrick vs. Davis. So the picture is Kyle Kendrick. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I am headed out, doing a Brewery tour and catching dinner before the game. I'm busting out my new Brewers jersey today, time for some good mojo! The good Bush will show up, I can feel it!

Going to the game tonight... not excited to see Bush, but I wasn't excited to see Davis either. Hopefully Manny Parra gets his shot in the rotation now, but something tells me Capuano will get his shot first. Because that would make sense.

I set all 3 of these threads up on Friday morning before I left town for the weekend. At the time, that is what ESPN told me the pitching matchups were going to be. Obviously that didn't work out right! I'll edit today's set up to reflect the changes.

With Gomez and now Edmonds gone, tonight would have been the perfect night to move Braun up to the #2 spot. Instead, we have .280 OBP Escobar hitting right in front of our big 3 hitters. It cost us yesterday when the game ended with Braun on deck, and it will probably cost us more runs again today when Fielder hits another solo home run to lead off an inning.

Just because we do not have a good #2 hitter does not mean it is acceptable to throw mediocre players into that spot, just so that we can continue the time-honored tradition of putting our best hitters at 3-4-5.

Hart against LHP and Gerut/Edmonds against RHP fit the #2 hole very well. Much better than burying them at the bottom of the order in favor of much worse hitters in Gomez and Escobar.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.
