The Drunk Thread 1½

Getpaddled

Tonight's already looking like a good night.

Wait til next Wed. when I'll be at the game with a group of 10. It's our annual trip where we go to Kenosha and gamble in the afternoon and then tailgate like madmen until first pitch.

GP-

For the most part, the guys are "light" gamblers and just go for the fun of the event.

A couple of us though will throw some money around looking to hit big. Our biggest gambler can't make it this year which is a shame because he's rather fun to watch twist in the wind as the races are run. Three years ago he won $800.

I'll usually play about $6-10 a race. Nothing major but enough to have a few shots at winning.

We only stay for 8-9 races because we like to hit the parking lot when it opens.

I know I'm talking a lot of gambling here in the drunk thread but trust me, this belongs here. It's a party.

I repeat:

but I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Sometimes I even amaze myself

I had a buddy who lived on Oakland when he went to UWM. I still don't know how he stayed eligible to played 4 years of baseball there, because when he dropped out after his eligibility was up he had a GPA less than 1.5. And that might be a high estimate. I know he had multiple semesters less than 1.0.

Anyways, it was always a good time there. Then again, anything was better than Whitewater.

Lakefront Pumpkin has been out for about a month now. This year's batch is mighty good, a lot better than last year's, which was the worst batch ever IMO.

Jamie mentioned a 1/2 barrel of Riverwest Stein on tonight's game thread which made me thirsty, however I thought I'd reply here since it seems more appropriate. There seems to be a few kicking back tonight on a Wednesday, and with a long weekend ahead of me, I lucked out in finding a few Sprecher Dopplebocks at my local liquor store. Two of these babies and I'll sleep like tonight never happened. Before you call me a light-weight, have a few yourself, and if you're not spinning after 3-4 of these I admire your tolerance.

Speaking of strong beers, a co-worker of mine is having a moving party this weekend (Jamie, this is the guy I know that lives right by you on Arlington, so listen for the noise across from the park), and asked me if I knew where he could buy a 1/4 barrel of Delirium Tremens. I had no clue, but since I've seen quite a few bars on the East side have it on tap I figured they had to sell them somewhere. If you've seen them anywhere, or have bought one yourself, I would love to hear where you found it.

I just fell in love with your co-worker and would like to volunteer to protect the beer from unwanted passers by. I feel I can best do this by sitting in a folding chair next to the Delirium Tremens while holding a constantly full cup. I'd imagine that I'd then be able to load a few boxes onto on of the pink elephants backs with a smile on my face and a smile in my heart.

edit: Patrick- you do know I'll be walking up and down Arlington looking for you. (now if I could just remember what the hell ya look like)

-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.
