AirTran Jet - Brewers Paint Job

Recommended Posts

Whoa! After a particularly cramped red-eye a couple years ago I swore off AirTran, but I might have to make an exception if this livery makes a SFO-MKE run. Will they serve brats and New Glarus on-board? Play "Roll Out the Barrell" after we cross the Rockies? Captain Pete Vuckovich?

That shot was taken on an Orlando-to-Midway flight yesterday, so I assume it's taking regular passengers.

I've flown on a few odd cross-sponsored planes on Southwest for the NBA and the like, so I think it's just promotional.

I doubt any team would fly in a jet painted up like that, for security reasons.

Why not? There are several teams that own their planes. I remember seeing both a Miami Heat and a formerly Seattle Supersonics plane in MKE

Yep. I've also seen the Dallas Mavs' jet parked near Signature on Layton quite a few times when the Mavs were in town (and in some cases during the offseason)

If you've ever seen Air Force One (and I recognize that they fly with an escort) you know that the President doesn't exactly fly discreetly. I don't think professional athletes have to worry about security reasons for having a pimped up paint job on their plane.

And I too have seen the NBA charter planes parked at Mitchell.

That photo makes me much more likely to book tickets on Airtran over other airlines, just for the slight chance that I would get to fly on that plane.

I guess the promotional paint job has worked for a few of you fellas, eh?

Mark me down as not really caring what's on the side of the jet, as long as the price and comfort are good.

How much longer is Midwest/Frontier the "Official" airline of the Brewers? Seems like their promotional expenditures have been dwarfed by Airtran. Reminds me of the Pabst/Miller wars in the 80's.

Typically Airtran is cheap and comfortable. So the odds are you would book with them anyway.

I saw the NJ Devils plane parked at Newark Int'l, too.

I've flown quite a bit and never even heard of Airtran. I'll keep it in mind.

That is an awesome paint job. If only that is the AirTran plane I take to NYC in September when I plan to catch a Brewers game there, that would be epic.
