Myday2001: about where in the stands was the kid who was injured by Esco's bat? Cory P. mentioned that on the radio last night but never followed up that I heard.

 

While I'm happy for the wins, like pitchleague I am a little uneasy with the streak of beatdowns. The mindset Pirates fans must be in right now is probably not that different from how many of us felt as Brewer fans in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I remember how that felt.

Still, this is an uncommon sequence for most any team to follow, so I'll find a way to enjoy it, if only for the novelty.

All reports say the kid was fine... He was about 10-15 rows up from the field, maybe less.

At one of the exhibition games early this month, we had seats right by the Brewers' on deck circle, and I wondered if that's where the fan got hit. It looks like it was farther back.

soup only gave up 1 run, not bad, nice win.

Expectations have sunk so low that a Suppan 1 IP, 1 run allowed is "not bad".

I was in the section directly behind where the kid got hit, and Escobar's bat flew several rows up into the stands. I actually flinched for a split second because when it happened, the bat was flying in my direction, and I was in row 12 of the loge level. It was pretty scary, actually. Thankfully, it didn't go all Rick Helling on the kid.
