WGN just showed the replay. Braun thought it was a homer. Even put up his fist in triumph. Kind of sucks, but it looked like he legitimately thought it bounced over the wall, as opposed to him just hot dogging or something. By the time he realized the ump said it was in play, it was too late.

Suppan isn't walking anyone, at least everyone is having to earn their way on, he usually manages to pitch relatively well when he limits the free passes.

Didn't Fielder have that grand slam taken away last year by Reed Johnson? IIRC Dempster was pitching that night as well. Dempster is living large against Fielder!
Yep, that was a win otherwise. I feel dirty after most games we play against them at Miller Park. Yes, he they did earn it in part, but two inches further and that's four more runs for the Crew. It's mostly luck that's felling them in these series'.

Well, and Jake Fox's ability to take a pitch 6 inches into the zone vertically and laterally for a ball.

And, you know, the Cubs just beating the Brewers sometimes, but we'll pretend that never happens.

The same pitch that Arnett got burned on to a lefty last night... that knee high inside corner fastball. I don't know why all lefties seem to kill that pitch, but I don't know why any pitching puts the ball there.

edit. Just watched the DVR, disregard my previous, that ended up thigh high right down the middle

Didn't get to see Braun running the bases, but it sounds like he was dogging it?
From what I saw, as I mentioned earlier, it looked like he actually thought the ball went over the wall and therefore slowed down.

According to pitch fx, it was a little outside of right down the middle and it was a changeup. And I think the notion that lefty batters kill low, inside pitches is mostly a myth.

I don't understand why anybody throws anything but low-outside pitches (especially breaking balls if it's a lefty pitcher) to Fukudome. He flails at them all the time.
