...and one of my favorite places to study as an undergrad at the UW. the reading room at the state historical society.

i easily got the most work done in this room because it was nearly guaranteed that i would know exactly zero people in the entire place.

Yes, apparently I now work in a palace; or at least, our big front room is now more palatial than before. The renovation took seven of the most disruptive months of my working life, but the results have been good and definitely easy on the eyes. We have also seen an increase in use of the Reading Room since it was reopened at the end of January.

 

If you're in or near Madison today or Saturday, there's an open house - not that the public can't just walk in anytime the library's open to have a look. I'm still on vacation, so you will not see me if you drop in during the open house.

thats great, but that wouldnt have helped since it was one of my unknown places to get some real studying done

The Historical Society is also one of my favorite places to study on campus. I love the "new" reading room.
