Nashville Media Notes

Left-handed relief specialist Mitch Stetter has been optioned from Milwaukee and is expected to join the Sounds for their game on Saturday. A roster move will be necessary to activate the southpaw. Stetter has made two appearances for the Brewers this season and retired both hitters he faced. The 29-year old made 71 appearances in 2009 for Milwaukee and limited lefties to a .178 batting average. Stetter ranks 7th in Sounds history with 130 appearances from 2005-08 and led Nashville with 51 appearances in 2006.

Periard started the game with 5 straight balls... woot there's a strike finally.

edit. A sharp ball hit at Green, he's goes to second and Lawrie makes a nice turn to complete the DP and erase the lead off walk for Periard.

ohh my goodness, I believe Chris just said the T-Rats are down 8-0.

edit. You know, until they fix the box scores I'd be better off just focusing on 1 audio choice instead of bouncing around listening to bits and pieces of them all.

He turned around to the umpire and did the high school "draw a line in the sand" where he thought ball was actually located. Chris talked about it at length the other night and Matt Erickson mentioned it yesterday in the pre game audio.

edit. Part of me is amused by Scooter's moxie, even though classless displays generally irritate me.

Jonathan Lucroy is destroying AA, although he does not have a lot of extra base hits yet.

Lucroy, Gindl and Green all have an OPS over 1.00. Lawrie has not hit much for average but as mentioned he has drawn a lot of walks. That combined with his power has his OPS aroun .900. That is an impressive 2-5

Final: Brevard County 3, Dunedin 2 (10 innings)

Brevard County box score

Great win for the Manatees, who were down 2-0 going into the bottom of the 9th. Dan Merklinger started and pitched five solid innings, allowing two runs on four hits and a 6/1 K/BB. Seems like, apart from the disaster starts, we've seen a lot of good K/BB ratios from Brewers starters to begin the year; maybe that's just confirmation bias, though. Lucas Luetge, Buddy Flores, and Corey Frerichs combined to toss five innings of shutout ball to allow BC to come from behind for the win. Leading the charge offensively were Josh Prince, 2-4 with a stolen base (natch) in his season debut, and Juan Sanchez, 2-4 with a double and the game-winning RBI. Brock Kjeldgaard had a huge two-out, two-run single with the game on the precipice, and Sergio Miranda was 1-2 with two sac bunts.
