Kenosha Watering Hole Suggestions Please...

Ando Calrissian

Friday night I have the chance to hang out with a long time friend of mine who lives out of state, the catch, is that we need to connect in Kenosha. I know nothing about Kenosha.

Do you all have any good suggestions as to where to grab a brew, some decent food, and watch the game? My preference is for good local places instead of chains. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

My girlfriend is from Kenosha so I will get some more info for you, but from my times in K-town with her are Sunnyside, Captain Mikes and the Boat House. Not sure if those will fit the bill but I have been to each place. I can get you some more info when she gets home.

Hwy Mikes - I-94 and just south of hwy 158 on the east side frontage road. Better than your average bar menu and it's good. More of a sports bar. Extra bonus: They have Delirium Tremens on tap and usually have a couple good looking waitresses/bartenders

The Boathouse (good food;mostly seafood - drinks; long islands)- Take hwy 142 east till you get to 7th ave, turn right/south, about 6 blocks down on your left. Captain Mikes was mentioned and is 2 blocks south on 7th ave but they don't serve food.

Bull & Bear - Hwy 50 to 39th ave, turn right/south, drive about 10 blocks, pull into the KFC it's the building directly behind it. More of a restaurant/bar but has more of a "bar" feel. Excellent food. It' no smoking but they have a separate room.

All 3 have plenty of t.v.'s for watching the game

If your just looking to eat, drink, and catch-up, any of these 3 would be good.

If you want to know where to go for more of a party atmosphere, let me know.

Just wanted to report back.

We ended up at Uncle Mike's Highway Pub in Kenosha as it was of great convenience for the both of us. The beer list was worth going for. The multiple TV's w/ sports games was great. The Brewers game was even great until the 8th inning. I thought the food was pretty typical for a sports bar. But, when you haven't had the chance to hang out with a buddy in 5 1/2 years, it all really proved to be good enough. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
