Why take out Villanueva? It's not like Ryan is a threat with the bat.
It's a really small sample, but Ryan has an OPS of 1.852 in 11 PA against Villy. That might have factored into it.
I really hope that isn't the reason for pulling Villy. It seems like a waste to bring in Hawkins there.
