2010-04-11 Cardinals (Carpenter) at Brewers (Wolf), 7:05 PM CDT [Brewers win, 8-7]

Baserunning question I couldn't tell from my TV angle, but I thought Fielder should have scored on Mcgeee's double, mostly because it looked like Casey could have had a triple as it rattled around in the corner.

Ueker said Fielder was held.

Some fun with Rickie's early numbers. He is currently striking out only once every 5.5 PA (I did this quick and didn't include HBP). That is quite a bit better than his career high of 1/ 4.7. Most of his career he's been closer to one per 4 PA. He is also up 6 BB to 4 K's and on pace to walk nearly 160 times. I don't anticipate he'll continue to see the ball that well, but he can regress on the contact side and on the walk side and still make some pretty big gains. Threaten Prince's BB record perhaps?

Macha makes Yost look like a genius. Why leave Wolf in to face Pujols when Coffey was ready to come in?
Because both he and Wolf felt he could at least not give up a homer? Macha has done a pretty solid job managing the pitching staff so far. If Wolf gets Pujols there, it looks like the right move.

Coffey's time from the bullpen was 13.48 tonight. As we're so close to the NFL draft it made me wonder what he'd run for a 40 time.

If the bases are empty, I could see letting him face Pujols. He came out the the mound, he should have pulled him. Hindsight, of course. I realize that. I was wondering why he didn't pull him.

It's really irritating having these games on ESPN. The picture is better but these guys really don't take the Brewers seriously and it bothers me.
Since it only happens once in a blue moon, I'll gladly put up with ESPN announcers for a better picture.
