It's probably based on projected games played at the DH position or the opening day lineups.

This is the major reason I'm against the DH. It artificially pumps up salaries for lame players. It's another reason for the unfair playing field in major league baseball.

Some teams are getting smarter and doing away with the guys who can only DH. We still have a few guys hanging around just to DH but I can see them going away in the next few years as their contract expire.
