I was at the game tonight and noticed two things - one, there was no untuckem after the win. Those faint-hearted Cardinals can rest easy, knowing that the sanctity of the game is intact. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif (In fact, I'll be expecting those reporters to write an apology now that it's clear this was a Mike Cameron tribute to his dad - no more Cameron = no more untucking. Ha.) Two, I really, really liked the video they played before the Brewers lineup was introduced. Lots of highlight snippets from the 40 years of team history. Very well done, and very unlike the cheesy crap they have used the last few years. Kudos, and I hope a copy of the video leaks onto YouTube somehow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

This was my first live game of the year. There was a pretty lively crowd for a Tuesday night. Not too many complaints. The offense put up some runs, Randy Wolf pitched an effective game, Hawkins had quite the debut, and we got to see Trevor Time. Brewers fans were able to go home happy tonight.

Good all around game. I'm happy with Wolf but just seemed like he never got in a "groove." But hey, he battled and only gave up 4. Hawkins looked great, bringing some cheese! Gomez is going to be all over the place people and he's not going to walk. I really hope the coaches work with him day in and day out so that he figures out some discipline. It would do wonders for his obp. I'm not expecting much though :-/

Good game crew! Can't wait for tomorrow.

My opening day turned out just fine, except for the downpours we encountered on the drive home.

I'm OK with Randy Wolf so far. I was pleased with his strike to ball ratio (72 of 97 pitches for strikes). It wasn't Sabathiaesque but if that's standard Randy Wolf, the rotation should be more stable this year. He also made a nice snag of a ball hit to him in the 4th.

I was more than a little nervous when Mitch came in, but he made it work. LaTroy Hawkins' appearance was encouraging.

I also called the McGehee home run. I have the S.O. as a witness. He went on to predict the Zaun GIDP + RBI.

As a veteran of "second home games" for the Brewers, I would call Tuesday's crowd a healthy size for the second game of the year. However, anyone who believes there were 37,344 in the house are crazy elf talking. I know attendance is not who's there, but who "paid to see it" but the S.O.'s attendance guess was 27,000 and I was entertaining 29K or maybe 30K.

I would like to call attention to Tuesday's episode of Triple Play Trivia Shame. The choices were Jody Gerut, Jim Edmonds and Craig Counsell. The clues were (1) His middle name is Diego; (2) He went to Stanford; and (3) He hit a grand slam against the Cubs last season. The hapless contestant guessed Jim Edmonds. FAIL.

I know not everyone reads the media guide as much as I do, but if they'd give it a little thought they'd realize that Jim Edmonds hit no grand slams in 2009. Also, Jim Diego Edmonds? Please.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

My game observations:

1. Hart got one of the loudest cheers, I was a little surprised by that.

2. I saw a group of guys that wore wolf masks to the game. I was wondering if that was going to happen at all this year.

3. I agree, that triple play contestant failed pretty hard.

4. McGehee has been a pleasant surprise these two games after that spring he had.

Overall it was a pretty fun game to go to, despite the weather being the opposite of yesterday.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

This is my first time at a computer since yesterdays game.

I laughed hysterically at the Jim Diego Edmonds bit. I didn't know he also hit a grand slam while he was mowing his lawn or whatever he did in his year off.

I was stoked to see Hart enthusiastically cheered. I hope the cheers continue.

I was impressed with the no walks from Wolf and the utter dominance by Hawkins and finally

Theres nothing else like Hell's Bells in the 9th. I know the brewers have won the last 4 times I've gone, I think I've seen Trevor Time all 4 times.
