RHP Mike McClendon AAA

Nobody ever talks about RHP Mike McClendon. I saw him pitch last year

in AA and and I thought he was really good. Since no one ever talks

about him, I thought he was lucky or my untrained eye was a little off.

Now he is on the AAA roster at Nashville. Maybe he wasn't lucky!

I saw McClendon pitch last year also. I was struck by what seemed to be an unusual wind up or pitching motion. He seemed to have "deception" on his pitches. Since he is now in his 5th year with the Brewers organization, I don't think he has moved up the chain quickly.

Here's McClendon's throwing motion:

It's a bit funky, with a short-arm 3/4 throwing motion.

He gets a lot of ground balls at times, and to the best of my knowledge throws in the mid 80's. Feel free to correct me on the velocity. From his high H/9 and mediocre K/9, doesn't look like he misses that many bats, though he doesn't walk guys either. Hopefully he emerges as another viable relief option in Nashvile.

I'm just thankful Mike's alive and OK. With so many similarly subjected threads in the off-topic forum, I have to admit I thought the subject of this one read RIP Mike McClendon AAA http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif

You're not alone--I've read it that way every time I've opened the forum.
