MLB Extra Innings - Free Preview? - Update - YES!

RyDogg66

The past two years I believe that Extra Innings has provided a free one week preview. Anyone know if they will be doing this again? It always helps me get through that first week when there are many day games, off days and rain outs.

Found this.

Major League Baseball is about to open its 2010 campaign and In Demand

is throwing out the first pitch on a free promo period and early

sign-up window for the sport's out-of-market package.

Digital-cable

customers can see up to 80 MLB contests throughout opening week from

April 5-11 for free, and buy the package, which will present over 2,000

ballgames this season, for $179 if they order by the latter date. That

marks a $20 savings off of the full-season price of $199.

The 2010

MLB Extra Innings package features up to 80 out-of-market games weekly

throughout the campaign, plus a number of free enhancements. Select

systems throughout the country will present the games in the

high-definition format, delivering up to 12 HD games per week.

Look around on the alternate sports channels if you're have DirecTV or DISH. On DirecTV, you might find also the game within the Extra Innings channels. (Extra Innings broadcasts of one's "home" teams are blacked out. But if you're entitled to a particular broadcast for another reason, that channel will be turned on.)

Appleton would likely be too far away, but for those who can pick up channel 58 over the air, WMLW is on subchannel 58.2.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

It looks like the Bucks play Tuesday at 7, so I'm pretty sure that will be on FSN, and why the game is on WMLW in the first place. If the Bucks did not have a game, and the Brewers were still on WMLW, then that broadcast would be shown on FSN in the Appleton area. At least that's how it was done previous years and I wouldn't expect that to change this year.

Charter should be; they offer Extra Innings for purchase, per their website. Check the high-numbered subscription channels if you haven't already. Otherwise, give them a call. There should be a block of channels that listed as "Game 1", "Game 2", etc. The info bar on the on-screen menu should read "MLB Baseball" if there's a game on, otherwise it's "MLB Extra Innings/NHL Center Ice", iirc.

Of course, it could all be moot if the game is blacked out.

Casey,

DISH was unable to reach an agreement with MLB this year. Therefore no Extra Innings and no MLB Network. Verizon might be getting a call today.
