This one makes sense

As a hobby to pass time from my day job i like doing this stuff and this is the forum for it so here it goes:

COL has Troyboy coming up at SS, too many OFs, and a young catcher or two that they might be willing to part with.

MIL has too many prospects to keep all of them on the 40 man roster, a speedy young CF (that COL covets) and young pitching.

MIL sends BNelson/Gwynn/Eveland to COL for Barmes/Ianetta

The reality is that I think MIL could send a PTBNL for Baker also as he has no place in COL but could be a decent OF/3B and steal at bats from Mench/Koskie.

Gwynn is one of many CFs here (move Billy Hall to CF for good and 600abs) and for all the pitching questions it looks like Hendrickson is out after Bray beats him out in the pen, Carlos Villa has the #5 spot and DDavis will return til midseason next year when Yo takes his spot. So what happens to Dillard, Hammond, Eveland, and Parra?

They have options but the limitations of the 40 man roster will come up. Trade some...

Barmes becomes the SS that plays when Hardy goes out and all around INF when he is healthy and Ianetta take the catching reins for the next 7 years...

Everyone has holes to fill...start here...rousieboy

so overpay for it...add a significant prospect as a PTBNL and have them throw in Baker...

Do you want a FA catcher next year killing the payroll? Do you think that DMiller will play 145 games next year? Can JJ play a full year?

So many posts here have us coddling our young pitchers...I say trade some....

I don't think anyone dislikes the idea of getting a prospect like Iannetta, or any catching prospect for that matter, but as I always like to remind people, you just don't see many prospect for prospect deals, especially none that are as detailed as your proposal is. It is just incredibly hard to place a value on them, and the teams that hold them typically place more value on their own guys since they have more stock invested in those players.

And as noted, catching prospects are about as hard to acquire as top-flight pitching prospects. I'm not trying to diss your idea, because I'd love to see it happen, I just question the likelihood.

"unless we get Offered a 'Cant'turn down Trade'. Big Picture... " that is why Ianetta has to be the key to it...young starting catching under control for 6 years in 2006 is not small potatoes...who else is going to be behind the plate next year? MRivera and JD?

I think that most of you are happy with delusional trades like Hendrickson and Krynzel for ARod...

Mench and Hendrickson for Tracey and CStewart

BClark for Breslow

Krynzel for Pinto

get used to those types of trades...if any. I am done here.

Umm no. Miller and Rivera.
