Thanks for the link! I've always said we need more hummus at the ballpark.

Question for the expert posters: Have they solved the issue with the roof bogies and whatever else was discouraging them from opening/closing the roof?

don't quote me on this, but I do believe that they fixed this issue during the winter of 2007-2008 (prior to the 2008 season). I know it's been good to go for at least 2 seasons.

This is kind of cool:

Finally, a new roof control room has been built on the Loge Level concourse. Fans will be able to see behind the "Wizard's curtain" as a glass wall has been constructed, allowing viewing opportunities of the area where the Miller Park roof is operated.

Most of the price changes don't seem that horrible. I think the brat prices are getting a little bit ridiculous, since quite frankly, I don't think the brats are that high quality to begin with.

I do like that they're adding some new food options. I'm particularly interested in trying the ravioli and burritos. Kind of nice to see them expanding the choices; since seeing some of the options at various spring training parks has made me question why we basically just get brats/dogs and burgers as entree options.

I was going to say, as long as the Cactus League Nachos (and taco salad) stand returns, that's enough for me. That and the potato bar.

Now my meager student union lunch seems especially lacking.

Edit after Saturday's exhibition game: Cactus League Nachos/taco salad prices have gone up .25. Potatoes are up a quarter too, to $6.25. Same potato ladies at the loge stand, though, which is excellent news.

One of each please!! We really have a 1st rate owner now who realizes that going to the game is more than just the product on the field. Ballpark prices are still insanely high, but if enough attention to detail is made people won't notice it quite as much. Please keep this team for a long time Mark A!

Might I add some suggestions:

Brewers pre-loadable debit cards with an option to automatically deduct tips. I suppose passing cash back and forth is kind of part of the ball park experience though.

The Alcides Esco-Bar. A silky smooth chocolate bar in the shape of a glove with gold foil wrapper.

The Kingdom Box. Includes toasted ravioli, mozz sticks, and the cheese steak sandwich http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif in a box with Prince's likeness and number.

Here's an item from the recap of Saturday's exhibition game. I added the italics:

Worth noting: By Saturday, the Brewers had repaired a block of

lights in the center field matrix scoreboard after Tigers first baseman

Miguel Cabrera launched a batting-practice baseball off the structure

prior to Friday's game. It worked for the game's first seven innings but

then went dark in the eighth. The Brewers are planning to replace their

10-year-old scoreboard next winter.

So to those of us keeping track at home, replacing the scoreboard/videoboard is still on the MP radar.

Just a heads up on what I saw about the mozz "sticks" and the ravioli from saturdays exhibition game. I went to the pizza stand in the loge level 3rd base side which was one of the stands that had them. These will not last long. They cook one order at a time in this wierd frying machine. the cheese sticks(which really are small nuggets and I tried and were kinda tasteless) take around a mnute and a half, the ravioli(which i didnt try) was like 2 and a half minutes. Because of these items, the stand that sold them was extremely slow even with only four people in line. Maybe if they add a couple more machines per stand(as this one had only a single fryer) it would be better, but I cant imagine what wait time will be like opening day.

I noticed that on Saturday. One of my favorite photos I took from the end of the 2008 season was of the C IT GO pump sign displaying a large RYAN after his grand slam on September 25.

There's a Trevor Hoffman banner under the U.S. flag in the outfield, intended for a countdown (I guess count up) to 600 saves.

Something I haven't seen posted yet that we noticed today was the abscence of the "C-it-Go" pump out in center.
I wonder if getting rid of that was part of the new batter's eye (the pump had bright colors that could be distracting) or if it was just that the marketing deal was over.

Then I hope the Robert Haack Diamonds sign in left center either disappears or is redesigned. It has the look of one of those fly-by-night jewelry buying operations, as if perhaps a stand for selling your unwanted gold was in the loge concourse, or one of the parking lots.

Fans of the terrace level fan store may be disappointed to learn that the discount rack (which brought joy and bargains to at least a few of us here at Brewerfan) is no longer a part of that retail location. Now it looks (to me) like a smaller version of the new overpriced stuff that is downstairs - though to be fair, I didn't make my way to either of the field level stores during Tuesday's game.

I think it looks like a sign that one of those payday loans / check cashing places would have.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
