Who was the most impressive prospect in spring training (2010)

nate82

I'm not going to include anyone who is going to be making the majors.

For batter I was really impressed with Cain again this year hopefully he is 100% healed from his injury last year. He put up some nice numbers in spring training maybe a late season call up if Hart continues to struggle? I know this is only spring training but Cain looked good again this spring. I wonder if he will start out in AAA or if he will start out in AA.

As for pitchers I really liked what I saw from Braddock and Axford the future bullpen looks real nice with Axford and Braddock in it (still hoping Braddock can develop into a starter though). What I really liked about Braddock and Axford was there command the numbers for Axford really aren't there but Axford only walked two while striking out seven. Yes I know it is spring training and the stats don't mean much but when I did get to see or listen to some of the games these two will probably be in Milwaukee sometime this year.

PLAYER W L S ERA G GS CG SHO IP H R ER ------ - - - --- - -- -- --- -- - - -- Z Braddock 1 0 0 0.00 4 0 0 0 5.0 5 0 0 J Axford 0 1 1 5.00 7 0 0 0 9.0 11 6 5[/pre]

Who do you have as being most impressed with?

Disappointments would be Lucroy and Salome but I wouldn't really put the blame on them since they didn't really get much playing time.

I agree with your choices. Also, Kottaras did everything he needed to beat out Treanor and make the club. Now I hope he gets some PT to keep Zaun rested. Stern may not be a top prospect, but he put his name on the map with this spring. Estrada and Loe had good springs, and there's a chance we'll see them in Milwuakee at some point this season.

I was very happy to see how Cain performed this spring. Here's to a good season in the minors. I could definitely see him as a starting Brewers outfielder next season if not later this year.
