National prognosticators thread

MoreTrife

Most National prognosticators I have seen/read have predicted Pujols and Mauer as MVPs and the Phillies and the Yankees in the World Series. They are split about 50/50 on who wins the World Series. The Cy Young's going to either Lincecum or Halladay in the NL and Sabathia or Lester in the AL. ROY has already been given to Jason Heyward with Brian Matusz picking it up in the AL.

they are really are going out on a limb by predicting the exact same things to happen this year as happened last.

Yes the Astros with maybe 5 above average players in Berkman, Rodriguez, Oswalt, Bourn and Pence. Of course Berkman is on the DL, Oswalt has been so hurt and ineffective that he's been openly talking retirement, and Bourn who might be all BABIP.

The Brewers are probably about 3 games better overall than they were last year.

BP had them at a Pythagorean W-L of 74-88. Take away two wins on offense and add 5 for pitching and thats how you get to that 77 win range. I have them at 83 wins and 4th place.

Brewer fans love the upgrades in the rotation and the bullpen, but neither are all that special. Wolf and Davis project as .500 pitchers and the bullpen, which was league average last year takes a bit of a hit when you get the regression from Coffey and Hoffman, and Hawkins being a net zero contributor.
