ON THE MOUND: Also scheduled to pitch today after Chris Narveson (subject to change) is RHP Todd Coffey, RHP John Axford and LHP Zach Braddock.

MINOR DETAILS: In uniform from minor-league camp is OF Norris Hopper (#92), INF Zelous Wheeler (#95), RHP Jim Henderson (#97), RHP Mike McClendon (#98) and RHP Juan Sandoval (#94).

Narveson -- Coffey -- Axford -- Braddock that's sweet!

Can someone explain this double play: (Narveson-Treanor-McGehee, C-Fielder-Gomez, C)? The only way I can explain it to myself is by assuming Escobar and Inglett ran into each other and fell down. Seriously, how are the 1B, 3B, and CF involved without the 2B or SS?

Thanks, And That. Sounds like classic Royals baseball.

And I definitely don't think this locks up a rotation spot for Narveson. I don't really think he has a chance at the rotation simply because I can't see us going with four lefties. I do think he's fighting for the long man spot in the bullpen, though, and I can't imagine he won't get it at this point. If life was fair, Suppan would be released, but I have a feeling it's Bush that'll go because of the contract situation.

I don't get the big deal about starting the year out with four lefties in the rotation. Inevitably one will get hurt or be ineffective, and then more than likely get replaced with a righty. I think the team should go with the five best starters, period.

If Suppan ends up with the worst spring training performance and still gets a rotation spot, I'll be pretty disappointed with Melvin and Macha's earlier lip service regarding this issue.
