Rolen to Yanks?

Recommended Posts

That would be a bad deal for the Yanks. While Rolen is far superior with the glove, A-Rod is superior offensively and can stay healthy. Rolen has a lengthy injury history and can't be counted on to play a full season. The money the Yanks would save in this deal really wouldn't mean much to them.

Watch it on Jeter, man. Big Yankee fan here too. Especially Jeet. He may not be nice, but at least he backs it up. I'm so tired of everyone feeling sorry for A-Rod. He's a grown man, and needs to play the part. No more mental softness. Besides, he's not going anywhere, his "awful" year was still better than anyone in our colors http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Jeter said what needed to be said -- "What do you want me to say?"

Jeter is the most insecure man on the planet. Jeter is adored in a city of millions, but because he knows that ARod is better then him he refuses to do just a little to help him out but instead blames Arod for the Yankees losing.

The only people who think ARod is mentally soft are mentally soft themselves.

Jeter blamed A-Rod for losing? Where did this come from? I had never heard of this before.

I like how the Yankees want to get rid of A-Rod for someone better, or maybe they want to rid themselves of the contract....right. They want to pin their postseason struggles on A-Rod. Rolen for A-Rod? The Cardinals would be getting the best deal in a long time, assuming the Yankees would pick up some of the contract. If I were the Cardinals I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. A-Rod stays healthy, hits for more power and could hit for higher average. Rolen will play better D, and is a class act - that I've always liked about him.

Anywho I think A-Rod needs to get out of NYC, it's just not his atmosphere IMO. He's had good seasons since he's been there but I think he needs to go some place where he's the man, not just a cog.

I agree Arod isn't going anywhere, and shouldn't. He has his demons, and as a Yankee fan I worry. But also as a Yankee fan I know that no matter how great a player Jeter is, (and yes he's our generation's DiMaggio- an unforgiving, bitter sonofabitch) he's hasn't been perfect either.

I think there would have to be more players involved to balance out the talent, but this trade sort of makes sense. A-Rod could probably thrive in St. Louis because the fans and media would appreciate him even when he struggles. Rolen and LaRussa don't get along anymore and maybe Rolen could use a change of scenery..

As a Brewers fan, I hope this trade does not happen. I still think the Brewers should try for A-Rod.
