Great news.

 

Aguilar has really struggled at the higher levels. Lofgren has struggled too.

 

But we need starting pitching depth. We are well covered in the bullpen.

I'd say with Dillard, Loe, and the other decent minor league FA's they signed, they might have a very good AAA rotation and staff.

Apparently Aguilar lost 30 pounds this offseason, it'll be interesting to follow his efforts with Cleveland (and his velocity).

That's not really true at all. Evan Frederickson and Del Howell are both projectable lefties in the system. Dan Merklinger doesn't have the velocity of the first 2 players I mentioned but he pitched very well last season and is a legit starting pitcher prospect in his own right.

There is an outside chance that Brae Wright will come back strong this year also. Before his TJ surgery last year, he looked like a #4-5 lefty starter and should be at the AAA level also.

Another LH who will be on the shelf this year due to TJ surgery, but has shown promise is Bobby Bramhall. Led Florida State league in ERA in 08, and led Huntsville in K's last season even with elbow difficulties. Following his progress in the system so far, look forward to his return next season.

AAA 2B that can hit are a dime a dozen...2B is where SS and 3B's that can't throw end up. Hernan's big league time will be very limited unless he is able to play SS/3B or make it as an OF/2B. He's a bit unique that he bats lefty, but that's not enough by itself.
