2010-03-04 Brewers (Suppan) at Giants (Zito) 2:05 PM CST [Brewers lose, 5-3]

Do you have to be a paid subscriber to some MLB package to get the WTMJ feed?

Yep -- I just tried some of the other audio feeds & it prompted me to buy MLB.com audio. How is it legal for MLB to block out free radio broadcasts? I'd just listen on the radio, but WTMJ's signal has a lot of feedback for me.

Was there some sort of fight on the field after Fielder got hit? Uecker seemed to allude to something on the radio, but I only caught the tail end of the first frame.

I think the Giants announcer may have said Fielder picked up the ball and rolled it back to the mound, but I might be mistaken. Basically, nothing happened.

Prince stared at him and then threw the ball back to him. That's pretty much it.

I can't listen to the WTMJ broadcast through the WTMJ website. They have a message playing stating something to the effect of, 'due to contractual arrangements we cannot air this broadcast'

SPORTS TEAMS RETAIN THEIR OWN INTERNET AUDIO STREAMING RIGHTS. We are not able to stream any sports play-by-play broadcasts. That means you will not be able to hear any Brewers, Bucks, Packers or Badgers games through this site. For information on how to listen to Brewers games on the Internet, visit the Milwaukee Brewers Web site.

I got 620 in Madison! I have this little portable radio and I was walking all over the house and found one spot where it came in. I wish I could have heard the run being scored.
Here in Fort, I had to do a lot of tweaking with my AM antenna for it to come in on my stereo receiver. Part of the problem is that the LCD monitor with my computer causes a decent amount of interference, and there is only one window in the room, facing the west (i.e. the opposite direction you would want).

Hey guys, the pitch-by-pitch on Gameday is not accurate, every strikeout is on three pitches, every walk is on four pitches, every base hit or out is on one pitch.

So given the delay, it's pretty much useless http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif.

Yeah, I noticed it seemed even slower than usual. Maybe they are still tweaking stuff to get ready for the regular season?
On MLB.com's scoreboard page, they don't even include the Gameday link yet. You can figure out how to get to it (as we did), but it's obviously not in regular season form.

Looks like the Brewers are going to give us extremely early-season fan forum etiquette lesson opportunities on how to discuss a situation when the other team fails to reach base!

Giants fans must be bemoaning their team offense already....

As far as the Gameday stuff, it just depends on if they have a stringer available to work these games. In most cases, they don't. There will be a few games that will have it this spring, but it'll be random. Both Miller Park exhibitions will have a full Gameday for your viewing enjoyment!

For what it's worth, mlb.com is still accepting my account information from 2009 - I haven't reupped for 2010 yet - but I can only connect to the mlb.com feed, not WTMJ. I'm glad it's working for someone, though.

As for thin skin, I have a smidge more sympathy for the Giants than I did for the 2008 Pirates (some of whom apparently couldn't believe that Ryan and the Brewers might have thought that 9/25/2008 grand slam was worth celebrating).

I'm looking forward to some non-Thursday games; this is my low employee coverage afternoon of the week this semester.

Finally...woot for Rickie!

Are you sure they didn't just re-up you? Mine renewed automatically on the first of the month. For the record, I can get WTMJ.

So Zito has to be suspended, right? I can't imagine they'll let him get away with it. What a stupid, petty thing to do. They think the Brewers acted without class, so they acted with even less class. Way to set an example, San Francisco.

I suppose that's not impossible. I don't think I authorized them to do that, nor to retain my credit card information. But I thought an annual subscription got you access through spring training of the next year.

Maybe I'll log out and try TMJ again. (edit: which didn't work - still only mlb.com feed access)

I really doubt it. It doesn't sound like Zito drilled Fielder hard or anything, and the umpire apparently did not warn either team. Hopefully both sides can consider this "settled" and everyone can move on.
