What are you watching?

Speaking of HBO I can't wait for Game of Thrones to start up again. I have been watching FaceOff on Syfy lately I don't know why but I have been. Usually I only watch Syfy when there is a Battlestar Galactica rerun on or if Ghost Hunters is on again I don't know why I watch the last show. I haven't really watched anything on basic cable for a long time now after Jericho was canceled for some dumb reason was really the last time I watched an actual episode on basic cable. I have been watching the Star Wars: The Clone Wars on the Cartoon Network a lot lately to. I actually find that show to be good and I also like Bomb Patrol Afghanistan it was a rather cool documentary series that was on G4.

I've been watching Alcatraz, and I'm glad I stuck with it. It's like Lost in a lot of ways, where the first couple episodes is setting everything up and revealing a lot of mysteries. Now, it's starting to pick up with some answers.

Don't worry, I'm sure they won't actually ever answer anything, and they'll just start making up new questions soon enough.

Their comedy outside of HIMYM is just horrible though. I just don't get Two and a Half Men or Big Bang Theory.

I fully agree with this. It pains me to see Big Bang Theory labeled as "smart comedy". It's Two and a Half Men with nerds. That's it. Smart in comedy isn't the subject matter, it's how it's approached. And it's hardly ever approached dumber than with Chuck Lorre at the helm. Man does that guy pump out some horrible shows.

Yup, people think smart comedy is a Large Hadron Collider reference book ended by boner and fart jokes. It doesn't have to be Futurama referencing the Uncertainty Principle with a line like "you changed the outcome by measuring it" at a race, but something at clever like one of Barney's long running cons of a chick on HIMYM is a happy medium.

I still love watching an old Simpson's rerun for a 4th or 5th time and getting a new joke. I saw one a while back where the sea captain said in the background "Call me later Ishmael" as he hung up the phone. Not hilarious, but got me to smile.

Whenever I hear them say "The most watched network" it makes me cringe.

I always wonder if they just have like an underground prison where they force people to watch CBS nonstop, just so they can use that slogan. A Clockwork Orange-esque.

I think they have an exclusivity deal with retirement homes. It would make sense since I havent met many people my own age (29) who watch CBS

Swamp People. Willie Edwards (the blonde kid with the missing front toof on the promos) became my hero when he got trapped on the bank by a big alligator. Willie calmly pulled out his pocket knife, jumped on the beasts back and stabbed it in the head, killing it.

Deadliest Catch. Those guys are men amongst men.

Hatfields & McCoys miniseries. Excellent. I found myself sympathetic to the Hatfields more so than the McCoys after watching it. (Please note the proper use of "more so").

Anyone else kind of disappointed on how Game of Thrones ended this season? I love the show this season again but I was not happy with the way it ended this season.

The end was ok, but this.season didn't follow the book very well at all.

I didn't like the extra story lines, and hope season 3 is much better.

"Locked up Abroad" just started again on NatGeo. This show fascinates me, mostly because people try to smuggle drugs internationally and are then surprised when the justice system in other countries isn't like the US. Idiots or not, the first person accounts are pretty cool. Last week was the first guy to sucessfully escape from the Mexican maximum security prison since Pancho Villa in 1912!
