Astros would make a good trading partner

UWRyan428
I remember last year, at the deadline, there was rumored to be a trade of Miggy for Ensberg and Lidge. I'm just curious if we might be able to get that package for Hall, as he is cheaper and Ensberg and Lidge have actually seen their value decline a bit. I just get giddy imagining a Turnbow or Capellan 7th, Lidge 8th (As he did when Wagner was the closer, and he would go more than one), with Coco in the ninth. It would be a pretty expensive endeavor, but it could easily pay huge dividends, and relief is always at a premium at the deadline. Perhaps we could even get Everett to challenge Hardy, and, if Hardy firmly entrenches himself at short, flip him as well at the deadline. I just think hall's value is extremely high right now and, given that his value is most at short or second and we don't have an opening in those positions, it would be best to get a good haul for him.

Hardy>>>>>>>>Everett

Hall>>>>>Ensberg and Lidge

I hope if the Brewers do trade or if teams ask about him and what we would want we would get more than a 31 year old 3rd baseman coming off a down year, a reliever who is terrible and a SS who has negative value.

I just think, given the recent thought that Hall would best be utilized serving as a corner outfielder, that his value to the Brewers is much less than what he could be to another, left-side-of-the-infield starved team. Thus, his trade value is greater to the Brewers than his utilized value. Also, imagine being offered this deal a year ago. In a broader scope, this deal could pay huge dividends, both in the win column and to our ability to make a trade at the deadline, as Lidge could very simply become the closer he was and Ensberg still has a very high OBP, as expressed in the article on "BaseballAnalysts.com."
