Invisible forum headings

Anyone else seeing that? For instance, above "Brewerfan.net Issues & Events", there is usually a link to "Brewerfan.net Fan Forum". At the moment, that link still exists, but is the same color as the background text when browsing a forum. When reading a specific thread, all three levels of the hierarchy are whited out, though oddly they are properly colored when you open the reply editor.

It appears this way in both Firefox and Safari for me.

Do you mean something like what I copied and pasted above? Because that has been visible to me in Firefox today.

Also, I enjoy the placement of the very start of battlekow's lead post:

Anyone else seeing that?

I've been messing around with the skin. I saw that at some point, too. I believe the link that's supposed to be black is showing up as white (at least sometimes).

I'll take a look.

sorry dadofandrew, that just sounds wrong

Kind of like the issues with dropdowns hanging open. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I bring that up because it relates to the white link people spotted yesterday.

I've found out that we can clean up the look of the board for those who don't have javascript available and for those who have static.yuku.com blocked by firewalls or content filters. You can see links to screen captures of static.yuku.com not loading in reply #6 of the dropdowns topic. Those who load static.yuku.com, but don't load javascript, see less of a mess. A lot of handhelds fall into latter category.

As part of this, I'm trying to clean up code in our skin; it's kinda hard to follow right now. The CSS that made the link white has been in our style sheet since we migrated from ezBoard, but it didn't affect anything until I moved it. It's gone now; I don't think it served a purpose. If you see a black link that's supposed to be white, let me know.

Ideally, typical Mac/Windows users who load all of the Yuku code shouldn't see anything different (except for a couple of issues that should be corrected for everyone). Currently, these changes have been kicked in for non-javascript users:

  • The jump feature by the page numbers and the collapse/expand buttons in messages have been hidden. They don't work without javascript. (The collapse/expand buttons on the board's front page do work without javascript, so they're visible.)
  • The dropdowns that display on both the top and bottom of pages will only be visible at the bottom if javascript isn't available. The main exception is that the LambeauLeap Forum Jump hasn't yet been placed at the bottom; it currently breaks layout when I put it there. The other exception right now is the moderators' Topic Tools menu; that's still at both the top and bottom.
  • Without javascript, dropdowns have height restrictions and scrollbars appear.

There are likely to be more glitches, so please feel free to report them. Hopefully, they're at the level of a link being the wrong color rather than any major breakage. (I think I'd see major breakage immediately, but you never know. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Also, I'll get this stuff added in over at LambeauLeap as soon as I can. I'd like to make a few more changes here at Brewerfan before I start over there.
