are we not excited about fantasy baseball 2010?

flosses like fossas

Hey-yo if this is the same Bf.net keeper league that I was in last year, Im going to have to punt. I wasnt a fan of the set up with no limit on transactions and such. Too much streaming going on for my tastes. Anyway...

If anyone is interested, I am putting together a LIVE and IN PERSON auction draft/league that will draft in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on March 27th at Noon. if you are interested, and are serious about fantasy baseball please contact me via IM.

Well, since the initial post was about pitchers... I figured I'd throw

in my two cents. Using the average of the Bill James, PECOTA, CHONE,

and ESPN projections (compiled painstakingly on excel) and applying an

unscientific forumla (tried to give every stat a 1-12 value because I'm

in a 12 league rotisserie format) and weighing ERA and WHIP for IP (so

closers and relievers don't dominate that much), here are SP rankings.

(and Yo didn't fare well because his WHIP projection is around 1.30)

Lincecum--------------43.13
Halladay---------------40.97
Haren------------------37.18
Greinke----------------35.65
Sabathia---------------35.65

5x5 regular categories. Keeper League. I can keep Manny Ramirez as a 3rd round keeper. If I dont keep him, the likely players that would available with the pick I would have for not keeping him would be Adam Dunn, Tori hunter, Carlos Lee, Bobby Abreu, Raul Ibanez, Alfonso Soriano.

#1 - Would you keep Manny

#2 - Top 3 Of of those players remaining for 2010 (not beyond).

it would be really helpful to know the rest of your situation...BUT...i would keep adam dunn over manny. he is consistent.

top 3 not including manny: dunn, abreu, c. lee

under no circumstances here would i keep manny.

I'm looking for one person to take a spot in my league, please respond or e-mail if interested! e-mail is paulwbaumgart@yahoo.com

The basic rundown is as follows, run through Yahoo, 10 team league mixed AL&NL, auction style draft for 23 players, snake order for the final 7 spots of backups. Team fee is $50, 30 total spots on the roster, start 9 pitchers of your choice and 14 position players: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CI, MI, 5 OF 2 Utility. Rotisserie style, categories are AVG, HR, RBI, SB, OPS - W, ERA, WHIP, SV, K/BB. Tentative draft date is Sunday March 28th in Muskego. We've had this league since 2005 with a core group of 7-8 guys but it seems each year there is one or two on the fence. We can take up to 12 but need one more to make 10. It's fun and we are a welcoming bunch but also somewhat competitive during the season, nothing crazy (IMO) though. More work than fantasy football which seems to turn a couple guys off but guys like me enjoy it more because of that too. You can adjust your roster every day if you'd like, there are trades and plenty of trade offers. Anyway, hopefully someone is interested.

My AL 12 team, 4x4 keeper league needs multiple owners. Auction was originally scheduled for March 27th, but may have to move it if we can't find new owners quickly.

Tried this last year and it didn't work out as the guy completely skipped our auction. So, please be in the area and don't waste my time.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't normally do this, but I'm completely stumped over what to do about this preseason trade offer:

I would give:

Matt Kemp (OF-LAD)
Chris Perez (RP-CLE)

I would get:

Grady Sizemore (OF-CLE)
Jon Rauch (RP-MIN)
Clayton Kershaw (SP-LAD)

The rub is that I'm pretty well set with power and SBs on the offensive side, but I could use the SP help. Over the season, I see Perez and Rauch as a wash (assuming Wood actually returns from injury), so it's a question of Kershaw making up the difference between Kemp and Sizemore.

10 teams, 5x5

I'm taking part in a fantasy league for the first time this year. Our draft was last night, and I think I'm happy with my roster. I'm posting it below because, since I'm new at this, I would take any pointers I can get. It's not a keeper league and there's head-to-head scoring (still not fully certain how that works). I just get the feeling that the match-ups will start and I won't be sure what I'm doing.

C Victor Martinez, Bos C, 1B

1B Adrian Gonzalez, SD 1B

2B Chase Utley, Phi 2B

3B Chone Figgins, Sea 3B

SS Troy Tulowitzki, Col SS

2B/SS Elvis Andrus, Tex SS

1B/3B Adam Dunn, Was 1B, OF

OF Jayson Werth, Phi OF

OF Carlos Gonzalez, Col OF

OF Jason Kubel, Min OF, DH

OF Jason Heyward, Atl OF

OF Nyjer Morgan, Was OF

SP Zack Greinke, KC SP

SP Javier Vazquez, NYY SP

SP Josh Johnson, Fla SP

SP Matt Garza, TB SP

SP Scott Kazmir, LAA SP

RP Heath Bell, SD RP

RP Rafael Soriano, TB RP

Bench Rickie Weeks, Mil 2B

Bench Kurt Suzuki, Oak C

Bench Juan Rivera, LAA OF

Bench Garrett Jones, Pit 1B, OF

Also, I can carry 2 players on the DL. Does anyone think it would be worth picking up Erik Bedard now or waiting since he won't be ready until mid-season?

Need some keeper advise. I can keep two of the following position players going forward, who do I keep?

Matt Wieters

Joey Votto

Matt Kemp

Shin Soo-Choo

Jason Heyward

David Wright

And one of the following pitchers:

Ubaldo Jimenez

Dan Haren

Do I keep Wieters and Heyward? I would think Wieters for sure and then probably either Heyward or Kemp? Please help!

I'd definitely keep Haren over Ubaldo. It's a really tough call on the position players. I'd probably keep Wright. 3rd is extremely thin on talent compared to OF and 1st and Wright is elite at his position. Last years HR total had to be a fluke. Other than that, I'd lean towards Kemp or maybe Wieters. Choo probably won't be as good as Kemp ever and it's hard to say if Heyward will ever be as good as Kemp yet. It's tough to drop a top 3 OF for a guy with the potential to be better. Wieters obviously has the potential, but Wright and Kemp are first round talents.

Would you take this trade?

I give: 1B/3B Jorge Cantu

I get: OF Adam Lind

Either player would go into my utility/DH spot, though Cantu still gives me flexibility on days my 1B/3B (Morneau/Longoria) are not playing. My bench player is also currently an outfielder (Ibanez). Thoughts?

I am not Shea Vucinich
