Lost Season 6...

razzzorsharp

I had never watched Lost but a few months ago I made the mistake of watching the first few episodes. Now, three months and no more social life later, I am finally caught up. I have a feeling that Jack isn't going to be Jacob's replacement because that would be the obvious choice. I think it might end up being Hurley. He always seems to be around everything going on but that is just a guess.

Like Hofbraunhaus, I started watching Lost recently... about a month ago. I started watching the seasons on Blu-Ray from my local library. What an awesome show. I was able to get Seasons 1-4 from the library with no wait and burned right through them. I had to watch season 5 on hulu. Watching them on DVD is the way to go. No commercials and no agonizing wait for the following week's episode.

What's left for the writers to answer? Jacob and the Man in Black will obviously be explained, but how about the questions leading into this season? I think we will learn more about the island itself, but I can't think of any more burning questions that need to be resolved.

I am excited for next weeks episode. It is a Hurley episode and I really like what they are doing with his character. The flash-sideways are now starting to become really intriguing as opposed to early on this season when they were fun to see interconnectedness. I have been very happy with the last season so far.

I've been trying to think of who hasn't re-appeared yet, including Walt. I also thought last night's episode had a lot more inter-connectedness between the two realities than any of the other episodes this season.

That hot blond hasn't been back yet has she? The one that was into Sayid for a little while very early on - whatshisnames spoiled sister.

No Shannon has not been back, but in the season premiere Boone said she stayed in Sydney.

She was supposed to be in the premier but scheduling conflicts got in the way.

I remember hearing that she was going to be in it a while back but I guess i just thought they put that out there to confuse people

Early on, I really thought I would get sick of Hurley. The writers have added some depth to his character, and he has become one of my favorites. Have they explained why Hurley went into the mental institution? Maybe this week with answer that question.

I thought we already knew why Hurley was in the mental institution? Correct me if I'm wrong, but after they came back as the Oceanic Six, He had that night where either Sayid or Ben killed a bunch of dudes, but Hurley took the blame so he wouldn't have to go back to the island. And he had that crazy car chase as well. I think those are the events that led to him being institutionalized.

He went to the mental institution after going crazy when he saw Charlie at the convenience store. He then went on the car chase, and got put in the mental institution. The thing with Ben and the murders did not land him in the institution. The police found out he did not kill anyone and he got released. That was really close to them returning to island.

Hurley was in a mental institution long before he ever got to the island in the first place. The "numbers" which made him cursed after using them to win the lottery eventually got him institutionalized (I think he tried to kill himself after something collapsed while he was on it?). Remember his imaginary friend "Dave" and his brief love interest Libby were shown in flashbacks to his days in the mental hospital. I think they already explained how he got there a few seasons ago.

I was assuming the post was asking about how hurley got back to the mental institution the second time, when he went after the got off the island

Now that's how you end an episode. And I thought the high point was going to come 15 minutes in.

Pretty darn action packed for a Hurley episode as well. Things really seem to be coming together for the finale.

Very good episode with a nod to Seinfeld (The Human Fund) and Willy Wonka in the closing credits.

Also, Illana dying a quick death like that was unexpected but not unwanted. She bugged me.

I am wondering if we have seen the last of her. Obviously she is dead, but with Hilary being able to communicate with the dead and her having some special connection with Jacob I do not think her character is through. I kind of liked her character though.

This episode was great. Love seeing the flash-sideways starting to move toward something interesting. Desmond's character is one of my favorites and I thoroughly confused with what is going on.

What Michael said is making people think the island is purgatory again, but the writer's said that was not true after season one so I cannot imagine it would be true.

Bumping this up as the endgame draws near.

There's been much to criticize Lost for since Season 1. But this was the kind of episode that really hits home. Sawyer acts like Sawyer. Sayid redeems himself. Sun and Jin stick together. Poor Lapidus. And Hurley breaking down at the end really hit home. If they can approach or even top this episode in the few remaining, we're in for a solid ending.

Can someone remind me what happened to Ben Linus? I don't think he's been on since the Hugo episode but I don't remember where he went or what became of him.

EDIT - Wait a sec...did he and Miles go with Richard to destroy the plane?

SPOILER ALERT (text is hidden below)

Did Lapidus die? I guess I missed that. Was he the body that you saw floating before Jack swam out the big hole in the sub?
