Lost Season 6...

I'm in.

And I love that they've found a new structure for Season 6. Alternative timelines indeed. Lost has been about playing with time from the beginning, right in their move forward/flashback structure at the beginning, and they've really embraced it in the later seasons for all its worth.

Terry O'Quinn was on fire tonight. Especially in contrast with island "Locke" and 815 Locke. Also "I don't understand." is a chilling line in context.

I'm excited to see where they're going with this. They've answered some mysteries already. And I think they have a direction and a definite ending in mind.

Very cool episode. I like that they answered some questions and are going with what appears to be an alternative reality or something.

The whole backgammon (Mr. White vs. Mr. Black) with Locke is also outstanding, I would agree. Should be a fun final season!

This final season is going to be awesome. It will be very interesting to see how it all plays out. The best part about Lost is being able to form different theories and see if they play out or not as the series goes on.

I loved the episode last night.

My theory is that Jacob is now Sayid similar to the way Jacob's long time nemisis is now Locke. This would explain why Jacob told Hurley to bring Sayid to the temple. It will surely be interesting to see a major battle between Sayid and Locke (nemisis and Jacob) and who follows whomb.

I spent yesterday prepairing for Lost by reading some popular internet theories about what the meaning of this show is, and it's pretty crazy. I'm glad I have all the seasons as after this season I surely will have to watch again to put all the pieces together.

Just playing along, I'm wondering if ultimately they'll allow characters to live in both timelines. We could perhaps see John and Jack straightening each others lives out away from the island and Jack dieing in some sort of epic self sacrifice/redemption on the island, for instance. Kate could ultimately get gunned down in LA and live on the island. Etc.

Basically combining tragedy and triumph for each character. They all, ultimately, find their way in the big plan.

I really need to watch that series recap they had right before the premier. I've forgotten all sorts of plots points and character interactions.

I guess this part wouldn't make sense to me, since it would require Jacob to inhabit the body of Sayid, while the nemesis is only taking the form of Locke, but obviously not inhabiting his body as evidenced by the corpse on the beach. I would have a huge problem with that, but that's just me.

But something else was strange with the airplane scenes. It wasn't as simple as "the plane was supposed to crash, but it didn't." Something else changed prior to that, since Hurley quipped "I'm the luckiest man alive!" which we all know wasn't the case after Hurley won the lottery.

And how did the flight attendant wind up at the temple? What did she mean by the "first" plane? And who are these other "Others?" Will my headache ever go away from trying to keep all the timelines straight?

She was kidnapped in the episode "The Other 48 Days" on her way back with the Tail Section people.

Also, Shannon decided to stay in Australia, instead of get on the plane. And what is Desmond doing on the plane? Popping in and out of places again?

As a Heroes fan, I mentioned two things to my wife. "Matt Parkman is the pilot". I guess he was the original pilot, but he wasn't well known then. And "That's the puppet master guy from Heroes driving the cab.

Greg Grunberg : J.J. Abrams :: Bruce Campbell : Sam Raimi.

(He may not have been well-known to you when the show started, but he had already been a regular on Alias for 3 years at that point. He's not on-screen for Abrams' Star Trek relaunch, but he does provide the voice for young Kirk's adoptive father at the beginning.)

Funny to see Mac from It's Always Sunny make an(other) appearance. I didn't remember him when he was first on but knew he had been a part of the show from some IMDB.com research I did one day.

Glad to see Claire back. I'm sort of in love with her.

I wasn't happy with last night's episode... but then again I've been complaining about this show for 2-3 years now. I gave up on the show in Season 4 but got back into it when my girlfriend started watching it. I thought Season 1 was the best season of television possibly ever, and then after that they knew they had a hit on their hands and milked it for the next few years. It was quite obviously slowing down in pace to me, but in Season 5 it seemed like they were starting to write towards an ending so I'm now back in.

I just don't want more and more questions... it's time for answers and I'm anxious. I hope they start coming forward with a lot of them by mid-season.

Also... does anyone else think Mac from IASIP looks exactly like JJ Hardy? I can't get past the resemblance.

It probably seemed that way because, it's exactly what happened. They very publicly decided on an end date for the show to get away from the killing time seasons, at which point, the show very quickly got back on track and became interesting again with season 4.

Even I'm smart enough to notice the hidden meaning behind fake Locke throwing the white stone into the ocean. The balance of power has shifted to the "black rock".
