Anyone here ever been through a divorce?

RyDogg, you are correct. I was talking solely about debt collection agencies. If the account is sent to a law firm it is a totally different story, I would assume that only the most recoverable of debts are sent straight to litigation instead of to a debt collection agency. As I stated I was one of only 9 people out of 500 that could actually send the accounts to an attorney because it was better paper. Most of the loans get resold 4-5 times and just end up getting written off by every company that buys the paper.

Yeah, I agree that we are both correct. In the hand of a debt collection agency it is better to NOT pay it as they will have a much harder time proving you actually signed anything, assuming they they do sue you, which as you said is unlikely. Now back to a more pleasant topic....divorce...yuck.
