Spurling "observation"

bobskube

Team,

I am not going to throw any major stats out here on this one at all and this is strictly an observation. I think sometimes stats get in the way of things sometimes. Critique as you may.

Chris Spurling is not a Major League Pitcher. Period. I do understand he has had personal problems lately and I wish him the best, but at the same time he is just not good. He is very Winklesas-Simpson-esque. Batters have a great average against him and his outs are very LOUD outs. Not good. I know many people on here claim that he is what he is-and that is a mop up guy. However, he is a very bad mop up guy. I would much rather see a young guy like Parra get his chance doing that so maybe he can prove that he is not a "mop-up guy." Spurling will never be better than that though. His stuff is very, very mediocre with a "straight as a string" fastball, a curveball that hangs, and mental makeup of a 20 year old at college.

For anyone that thinks he should be on this roster-please post and explain to me why.
