Colby Lewis

I was wondering if he might be a guy we are looking to pick up as our second starter this offseason. He has dominated in Japan for the Hiroshima Carp the last 2 seasons, and is looking to come back to the MLB. He led the league in K's both seasons, and walked only 46 batters in 354.1 innings. To cap it off he was a 1st round pick by the Rangers in 1999, by GM Doug Melvin.

Interesting.

His major league numbers look really ugly. But most of that was as a 23 year old 7 years ago. In his last year in the States, his AAA numbers looked real good, and if you toss out his one start in the majors that year where he allowed 10 earned runs in 3 1/3, he didn't pitch too badly.

It will be interesting to see where he lands.

according to wikipedia (questionable validity), Lewis had 5 hr in about 100 AB.

The 6'4" righty would make an interesting addition if the brewers dont want to sign any of the 5 ERA batting practice pitcher (i.e. looper or davis) or one of the injuries waiting to happen. Plus this move would give them the much talked about "financial flexibility" that melvin desires.

Not to mention a strong hitting rotation (8th spot) wolf (.180 5hr in 11 seasons), Gallardo (.196 4hr), Parra (.187), bush (.129)
