Kameron Loe to Milwaukee, Minor League Deal with Spring Training Invite

JohnBriggs12

In another example of Melvin's preference for guys he drafted, TH is reporting the Brewers signed former Ranger Kameron Loe to a minor league deal. At worst, Loe, who's listed at 6'8" 225 takes the place of McClung in the post on the Brewer staff basketball team.

According to TH, Loe pitched in Japan last year. No word on his results.

Looks like a very solid depth signing from Doug and Co. In 343 career innings (47 starts), he has a 4.77 ERA, 4.71K/9, 3.22 BB/9, 0.86 HR/9, 4.49 FIP, 4.52 xFIP, and a GB% of 55. I'd never head of this guy before, but looking at just the raw numbers, I would have thought someone would have picked him up by now. Whatever the deal is, he will certainly be a nice 6/7 starter to have in AAA.

Merged the two threads we had on this.

Hard to get worked up over moves like this (Halama, Loe, eventually Mulder, etc.)...with it looking like there isn't even enough money to sign a Doug Davis type for the last rotation spot, I guess they don't have a choice but to pencil Suppan into that last spot and sign a bunch of guys like this to see if anything sticks. You can't win the lottery if you don't buy the $5 ticket.

"Good signing, not to excited about his K/BB rate, but has had some past mlb success. Does anybody know a way to look up his numbers last year in Japan?"

0-4 27 innings pitched, 36 hits, 12 bb to 18 K, 6.33 ERA, 2 HR allowed

I clicked on that fangraphs link. As one of the few baseball fans left that don't read up much at all on the many new stats out there, a lot of that page looks to me like it was written in Chinese. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
