Ross Ohlendorf

I know that Doug Melvin had some intrest in the Pirates starters (Duke and Maholm) when he was looking to deal Hardy. Do you think he could work out a deal to get Ohlendorf. He's 6'4" like 245 lbs, he's a beast. I think he is like 27 years old or about there. He had a 3.92 ERA and pitched around 170 innings winning 11 games. I'm not sure what his contract status is, but I think it could be affordable for Brewers. I saw him pitch against the Brewers and he looked good. Just an idea I thought I would throw out there. Corey Hart could get it done value wise. I'm not quite sure what the Pirates outfield will look like next year so it may or may not work. Any thoughts?

A couple reasons why I don't believe this would work.

1st-I don't believe the Pirates would want Corey Hart who's already entered arbitration and is getting significant pay raises now.

2nd-They have Andrew McCutchen as one of their OF'ers, they've got Garrett Jones as another one, and then a bunch of talented young players who they'll give a shot to such as Lastings Milledge who despite being well traveled is still very young and very talented.

3rd-They have a pretty good young pitcher who's still cost controlled. I don't think they'd be in a hurry to deal him, particularly within the division.
