Photobucket accounts expire if you don't log in

I'm not sure when this started, but Photobucket now requires that you log in every 90 days or your account will be deactivated.

Quoth Photobucket:

Why were my linked images deactivated?

If you do not log into your Free account within a 90-day period (three months), Photobucket deactivates your linked images on other websites. These linked images will be reactivated when you log into your account.

Important! If you do not log into your account within a 365-day period, your account will also be deactivated. If you go Pro, your account and linked images to third-party websites will remain active for the duration of your Pro subscription.

If you post an image and your account deactivates, this image will appear in your messages in lieu of the original:

Simply logging in will reactivate your account and restore your linked images.

After 365 days without logging in, your Photobucket account will be deleted. Within a grace period of this happening, you can restore your account by upgrading to paid Photobucket Pro.

Many members have linked a Photobucket account to Yuku to make pictures easier to post. I don't know if accessing Photobucket via Yuku's post editor counts as a login or not.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

It doesn't. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif You need to log in at their site.

This keeps getting worse.

The "inactive account" image in the lead is actually a generic representation. When your account becomes inactive, the actual image displayed contains your name. That means that if you've signed up for Photobucket using your real name, it might be displaying in places where you'd rather not have it show.
