Wisconsin Vs. Duke Game Updated 11/30

lodiness

Hey Everyone,

Don't know if anyone would be interested in this, but there is going to be a pregame party in the Nicolas Johnson Pavilion at the Kohl Center before the Duke game on Dec. 2, which will be open to the public. There will be concessions and beer for sale along with some big screens to check out the other ACC - Big Ten Challenge game that is going on. This part isn't set in stone yet, but there is supposed to be a representative from the Duke Athletic Dept. (possibly the AD), and one of the UW Coaches. It would be great to have a nice showing for this, and represent the University. Hope some people can make it. I'll post again when I have more details.

Thanks

If they're 21, think that it is going to open around 6:45 and close about ten minutes before the start of the game. Some of those details are still being worked on.

Edit: you don't have to be 21 to get in, just to buy beer.

Wonder if this guy will be there:

Alright, so here's a little update on the list of things going on at this.

Goes from 6:15-8 in the Nicholas Johnson Pavillion just inside Gate B

Big Screens to watch the other ACC/Big Ten Challenge Game going on

Will be selling food, Beer(Spotted Cow and Miller Lite, or Bud Light) Wine, Soda

Master of Ceremonies - Andy North: 2 time U.S. Open Champion

Speakers: Starting at Approximately 7:05

Barry Alvarez

Mike Cragg (Duke Representative)

Howard Moore (Badger Assistant Coach)

This event is open and free to the public, but DOES NOT GET YOU INTO THE GAME. Must have a ticket to enter the game.

For anyone who goes if you could shoot me your thoughts on the event. What you liked, didn't like, if you would go again. Trying to see if this is something that we would do a couple of times a year.

Yep, I thoroughly enjoyed this one watching on TV. Bob Knight was money. Duke never had a lead. Perfection.

I'll sleep well tonight.

Michigan football and Duke hoops in less than a month. Any chance we can Notre Dame in for a scrimmage to take care of everything I loathe in college sports?

Awesome game. That's as good as I've seen UW play since....I dunno, that win at Texas a few years back? But this one is even sweeter since it was Duke.

And the Big Ten finally wins the BT/ACC challenge.

As good as Wisconsin looked, I still don't know what kind of team they'll be. I have a feeling Duke is not the 5th best team in the country but even so they are really good. Is Wisconsin a top 15 team? Time will tell I suppose.

And why no Rob Wilson? Hurt or just bad matchups?

I don't usually use textspeak, but OMG. Just wow. I have a lot of negative thoughts to take back about Trevon Hughes. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif

I was moderately shocked at the number of Duke fans in the Kohl Center. Maybe it was the shade of blue, but it felt almost Cubs like. Or maybe it was the colossally irritating rugrat kid who sat behind me and not only felt the need to literally howl during every Badger free throw attempt, but also shouted WHOOOSH! and I LOVE YOU (name of Dukie) after every bucket they made. Seriously. He was like 10 years old.

I'd like to have a chat with the sellout fans in row D of section 120, the next time they bother to attend a game.

I can't believe the number of blantantly 'missed' calls that went Duke's way. Usually I roll my eyes at that kind of moaning (which often is aimed at Duke), but not tonight. The refs were so 'bad' down the stretch that I wouldn't doubt payoffs. And yes, I know that sounds wacko. But imho they were that bad. There wasn't really any one big call as much as there were (just based on my memory) 5-10 calls down the stretch that were either called against Bucky, or not called against Duke. Really got my ire up at certain times.

During the second half, I thought the fan on my right was going to klunk me in the head with his wild gesturing (asking for a travel call, and the like). There was much indignation around us (except for that blankety blank kid behind me, grrr).

I hope you took the low road and mocked him after the game.
