I just read on mlbtraderumors that the A's are looking to trade for a young third baseman. According to Billy Beane, Duchscherer may be available. Any thoughts on trading Gamel or McGehee for him?

The Duke is a free agent. I think they mean that Beane won't try and re-sign him. I'd take him at the right price though

I might consider trading McGehee for him but no way do I trade Gamel. Even McGehee might be too much considering Duchscherer was hurt all year and has only started for really one year.

 

Edit: Forgot he was a free agent. Put me down in favor of a signing at the right price though.

Oops, I misread it. Your right that he is a free agent. Well, in any case is this a possiblity with his injury history and Peterson as our pitching coach? I am not too familiar with the A's organization so I'm not sure if there are any other pitchers they have we might be interested in. The fact that they are looking for a young third baseman popped out at me.
