He would have to play for the Indians in order for that to happen.

26 year old who projects as a 3.0ERA/200IP pitcher for years to come. He's under contract for 3 years/$34 mil. He's easily worth over twice that. That's not exactly similar to trading for a guy who was under contract for half a season.

 

I can't imagine what a trade package would like like for him. It's not Parra/Hart/McGehee/Salome.

I've always found it curious they feel the MVP must come from a playoff contender, but often will give the Cy Young to the best pitcher in the league, regardless of his team's performance.
