If Counsell + Stewart, then Hardy or Hall gone?

Ive tried and ive tried, i cannot come up with a brewer/red sox/angels trade with manny that works. although for you nationals fans out there, id try this one:

red sox get nick johnson, chad cordero, and ervin santana

nationals get casey kotchman, jeff mathis, and chone figgens

angels get manny ramirez and kevin youkillis maybe some cash from the sox as well.

 

its not perfect but i think it gets all three teams what they want. the nationals continue to rebuild and dont really need a std closer at the moment so him and johnson net them a stud super utility guy and 2 high level prospects. the sox get their closer, their 5th starter, and the bopping 1st basemen they want. the angels get manny and some depth for what has been an iffy 1st/3rd base situation.

 

now, heres where the brewers come in. the sox still want more bullpen help and a ss(even if they sign lugo, he can play 2b as well id assume). trade turbow(who for some reason i have heard they have interest in), jenkins(same comment as turnbow), and jj hardy for coco crisp(who they have soured on as much as we have in jenkins) and jon lester. i dont know if thats enough to get them to offer up lester, but the fact hes coming off an injury that may even cause him to miss the start of the season may lower his value as hardys injury has lowered his.

 

we can then keep hall at ss, have crisp in cf, a mench/gross platoon in left, and hart in right. plus add a potential #3 starter like we did last year with bush.

the sox now play jenks in lf, pena in cf, and drew(who im assuming they will sign) in rf with an if of nick jonson, lugo at 2b, hardy at ss, and hinske at 3b. not terrible with big poppy as dh. a rotation of shilling(barring retirement), beckett, papelbon, santana, and matsuzaka and cordero leading an improved bullpen should help them as well.

 

the only team i see really balking at this may be the angels as they would be giving up a lot for manny, but that 3-4 or either manny vlad or vlad manny would have to make them think about it.

Lester has cancer. I think it's probably important for him to beat that before he thinks about coming back and playing baseball.

cancer huh? I need to start using web sites that are more specific to the injury. after losing my bro to cancer i hope he beats it. as for the trades, that threw me off, so i got nuthin.

I am not a fan of bring Counsell back and will be even less of a fan of it if it means Hardy or Hall are traded.

If all we get for Hardy and Jackson is Figgins and Quinlan I'd just keep Jackson and Hardy

 

That is pretty fair value.

 

Starting SS that has not shown he can stay healthy and a prospect for a top utility guy that can fill many spots and a power hitter off the bench.

 

I do not see this happpening however.
