a DAYTIME Championship Series game????? I didn't think that kind of thing was allowed anymore. I know they do for the LDS but not the LCS!

I'm guessing it's only because the game is out in LA?

I think Chip Carey just tried to blow my television speakers on that Manny HR call. I can understand if it was the bottom of the 9th or something, but this was the freakin' 5th inning. Come on, audio guy, turn his mic down when he starts yelling. It's called "balancing" for a reason.

Ugh. No kidding.

HEY CHIP! YOU HAVE A MICROPHONE! YOU DON'T NEED TO YELL -- EVERYONE CAN HEAR YOU!

Oh ... lord ... How's this for a nightmare roster of announcers on Fox?

Studio: Chris Rose, Eric Karros, Mark Grace

Game: Joe Buck, Tim McCarver

I'll be right back -- I have to go clean up my vomit.

CC gets out of the 8th inning. The fans are going "nuts," "chanting" his name and making "a lot" of noise.

Maybe it's the production values or something else, but I swear that (a) the fans were much more rowdy in Milwaukee last year when he pitched, and (b) CC was much more pumped to be playing in Milwaukee than he is in New York.

Or, now that he's a big-shot Yankee, he "has" to play more under-control with less emotion as it was a ho-hum 8th inning.

Regardless, I still hate the Yankees.

And FOX.

Wow. Tim McCarver just told everyone watching on national television that he didn't know until today that radar gun velocities read the ball leaving the pitcher's hand. He's been covering games for how long now? And he was a catcher when he played! I mean, I don't expect any random baseball fan to necessarily know that, but think about that one. That's the 'premier' baseball channel's #1 color commentator. Just wow. I feel like, if I know that, shouldn't *that guy* definitely know that kind of thing? Unreal.

Oh noez! Mr. October Derek Jeter made an error! I bet A-Rod farted and the smell blew over and made Jeter bobble the ball.

Edit: Looks like Scioscia doesn't want to take advantage of the error as he's now bringing in Gary Matthews Jr. to pinch hit for Mike Napoli.

wow....I can't believe that the ump called him safe. That is a total total screw job.

its funny that we can even call something like this a screw job when the player never did actually touch the base but umps NEVER call that a safe play

I know he didn't technically touch the base, but who calls it there, honestly? How many times during a series is a SS or 2B "close enough" to the base where the runner ends up being called out just because they were "close enough"?

To be fair, Aybar's foot wasn't even within a foot of the bag. I agree in general, given the 'neighborhood call', but that wasn't even close. The camera angle from behind Aybar made it look like his foot was within an inch or two.
