I wrote a letter to Felix the Cat once, when I was a wee little one. I don't know if my mother actually mailed it (or if she did, to where she mailed it).

Maybe he kept it in his bag of tricks. . .

 

That was a staple of afterschool tv on Channel 18. . .along with Lippy the Lion and Hardee Har Har, probably around 1973-75

 

Judge Judy and Tyra Banks got nothin' on Felix.

 

On a side note, I've been tuning to Boomerang every once in awhile to introduce my 5-year old daughter to some classic cartoons. . .It's just astounding how many of those old cartoons were built around the concept of one character trying to kill the other one, and the prey relying on some sort of trickery to avoid a gunshot or other form of death.

 

It seems to be the formula of all the Looney Tunes stuff.
