The whole state of Wisconsin is now in a winter storm watch!

2-3" tonight by the way, there is no advisory because it is expected to be mostly over by morning rush hour. If there is some lake enhancement, the lakeshore counties may wake up to an advisory.

My part of Arizona is under a Winter Storm Warning until Tuesday 5 AM! (yeah, over 4000 ft. but still)

Maybe we'll luck out and some it will get down to our elevation of 3500 ft.

I am in FDL so I should assume that I am going to be in that 10-13 inch area? I am still stuck with my shovel. ( I might get a snowblower for Christmas)

Looking forward to getting up at 4 AM to shovel on Wednesday morning when it will likely be still snowing hard.

Here's the latest info on the storm

5-8" right along the Milwaukee lakeshore and in Racine/Kenosha

8-12" SE of a Sheboygan to Elkhorn line

around 12" NW of that, including Fond du Lac and Madison

8" or so for a La Crosse to Wausau line, fading to around 5" in Minneapolis

The number will likely be tweaked slightly in the next day. The Milwaukee area has the most to gain/lose depending on small adjustments in the track. Everyone else should probably stay within a few inches of the above totals.

A blizzard warning is not anticipated at this time as the strong winds will come Wednesday after most of the snow has already fallen.

This sucks. I live in Janesville, and work in Madison.

About 30 or so people where I work, have allowences to work from home. It's mostly done to work voluntary overtime, and holidays.

Today they released an e-mail stating that those of us who have work from home capability WILL be expected to work from the office in Madison wednesday. However, the work at home folks who are not scheduled to work on Wednesday, may be called on to work overtime (from home) to make up for those folks who can't make it in, due to weather.

This makes absolutely no sense. none.

About dang time. I play a game called skip dog which skips a disk off a ramp through a hoop to be caught by the dog. It has a complete scoring system so we have competitions. It's great fun for any dog or disk golf enthusiast but is most fun in the winter. Way fun during actual snow storms. This summer I got a couple neighborhood kids involved and told them how mush fun it is to play in winter. They've been waiting for a snow day and I've got new ramps to throw off of.

My dog has also been waiting patiently.

Oh, RoCo, that is weird. Sorry you have to deal with it.

I could walk to campus if I had to, which could possibly be faster than figuring out what Metro will be able to do. There is almost no question that state agencies will be open - it takes an order from the governor for them to not open at all. I live closer than I think all of my colleagues (except student employees, who don't have keys to get in), so there's very little chance of a day off Wednesday for me.

And backupcatchers, if you can ever provide video of your beautiful dog doing his/her thing, feel free. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Light snow starting as early as noon Tuesday. Maybe 1-2" by the late evening. The real deal starts around midnight, continuing through maybe 6-8 AM. Then the winds and cold really kick in with light snow continuing until about noon Wednesday. Schools will close.

Schools will close.
K-12 schools and colleges whose students mostly drive to school will close.

Edit: I've had this Simpsons bit in my head for hours now:

Kent Brockman: Roads closed, pipes frozen, albinos...virtually invisible. The National Weather Service has upgraded Springfield's blizzard from "Winter Wonderland" to a "Class 3 Kill-Storm!"

Marge: I don't like the sound of that "class 3."

You think of that Simpsons moment, I think of this one...

Kent Brockman: But first! Let's check the death count from the killer storm bearing down on us like a shotgun full of snow.

Weatherman: Well, Kent, as of now the death count is zero. But it _is_ready to shoot right up.

Kent: Oh my God! [shakes fist at heaven] Darn you snow!

Always appreciate your updates, Weatherman. I'm actually looking forward to some more snow, but this might be a bit too much http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Aren't you from the Northwest part of the country? Maybe I'm way off, but I thought I remember you saying that.

Though it's not for as positive a reason as one would like, welcome back to the motherland, TLB.

And NMF, good call on the "shotgun full of snow." I would have played the "class 3 killstorm" episode last night but we don't have the 12th season on DVD yet. However, your quote is from "Lisa on Ice," which is season 6 and on disc at home. I know what I'll watch tonight! (Maybe also Mr. Plow.)

I had a few minutes to look at the new models. The storm is now forecasted to be even stronger than before and slightly farther to the NW. Milwaukee will see a sloppy mess of around 6" with the possibility of briefly changing to a mix of rain and snow. Madison stays at or below freezing for the whole event. Good chance to see a foot of snow or even 18" in some places if some heavier bands develop. I also suspect we will see some upgrades to a blizzard warning this afternoon.

Light snow today, the real fun comes in starting this evening. Winds really pick up by daybreak Wednesday.

coming down in Appleton. The wife is out doing a delivery and said the roads are slick. Couple accidents already.

It's a her. I do plan on making a video of her this winter and yes, I will share. I kind of chuckle when people call her beautiful though. When I first saw her at the pound I knew I wanted her. I went home and told my SO I found a border that I need to bring home but warned her she was kind of ugly. She still chastises me to this day for calling her ugly.

I just saw a car flip twice and come to rest on it's tires again about 30 mins ago. The driver of the car was saying that she wasn't hurt and tried to drive her car away. Funny part...all four tires were bent a different direction. She was obviously in shock...
